PVNED has established a solid reputation in market processes, data quality and operational excellence in the energy markets over the past years. By executing the Program Responsibility (PRP) or Access Responsibility (ARP) for its customers, PVNED enables them to become active participants on the energy market.

Because of its indepenedence, PVNED will not give any market advice, whether to buy or sell, at what time, at what price and with whom. We are however aware that our customers do have a need for this.

One area of cooperation could be the linking of data flows between PVNED’s webportal, in which customers can view their measurement data and execute all tasks related to nominating production and consumption data, and Concordia, Energy Global’s risk and portfolio management tool. Even though PVNED and Energfy Global will remain independent Actors ont he market, this way value is added to the customer’s work processes, without further complicating its business.

The customer is free to execute its own risk management and purchasing strategies, or have this executed by a different third party.

PVNED had an opportunity to present itself on the European Ancillary Services conference, Brussels 14-15 April 2010. the presentation shows how PVNED plays a role in the further opening of the Belgian and Dutch electricity markets and how a parallel could be drawn for the Ancillary Services markets.

Opening the electricity markets

On 1 August, PVNED has officially started its activities in Belgium. After establishing its status as Access Responsible Party (ARP) in October 2008 (similar to PV in the Netherlands), this is the next step in entering the Belgian Electricity Market.

Supported by the statement 'Creating Benefits Together' PVNED aggregates the imbalances of 3 market parties on the Belgian grid to create a portfolio effect that is largely divided among the participating companies.

PVNED has a diverse portfolio of customers. In the current portfolio one can find:

• New Market Entrants (Large, Middle and Small scale)
• Large Scale End Users (Chemical Industry)

Where the traditional utilities look to profit from portfolio effects and the data quality resulting from PVNED 's processes, the new entrants join PVNED to eliminate market entry barriers (software, knowledge of processes and regulations). Industrial customers choose PVNED for it's independence. These companies, who often use large amounts of energy and sometimes have their own power production facilities, can buy and sell their own production and offtake, without being dependent on a single utility. PVNED opens the energy market for these companies.
